Bronze Sculpture Details
What material did Edwin Bogucki sculpt in?
For the vast majority of his career, Ed used Jolly King Plasteline, a very soft, oil based, sulfur free, clay. For many pieces, he often incorporated other materials such as; hand carved Balsa wood, wax, metal, stone, tree branches, and fabrics where clay wasn’t ideal.
What does “one of a kind” mean?
Some of the sculptures are truly unique and are the only example of that work in existence. Other select pieces may have been part of an edition but were changed in significant ways by the artist at some point in their creation (either in the wax or metal stage) making them visibly different from other works made using the same molds.
Can I see the artwork in person?
The artwork may be viewed in person at the gallery by appointment only.
Why aren’t there prices listed for everything?
Because we understand that confidentiality is important to our clients, prices above a certain amount are not made public in order to protect the privacy of all parties involved in the transaction. All pieces are sold private treaty.
What are the sculptures made of?
The sculptures are cast in high grade silicon bronze using the lost wax method, one of the oldest metal forming techniques, dating back 6,000 years.
Where are the bronzes made?
All of the sculpture is produced exclusively in the United States of America. We have a long-standing relationship with Moeller Bronze LTD in North Dakota. Jonathan Moeller has produced high quality lost wax castings for Bogucki Studios for many years. All other work, is done here in Racine, Wisconsin.
